Scholarships

As part of our mission Goshen Noon Kiwanis offers a number of scholarships to local students.

Following is a listing of the  scholarships, requirements for each, and how to apply for them.

 

  • Indiana Foundation Scholarship

    • This is a $1,000 scholarship that is awarded through the Indiana Kiwanis Foundation. We choose one student’s application from Goshen High School or Fairfield High School and submit to the the Foundation.  The Foundation then awards one scholarship in each of the 17 Indiana Kiwanis Divisions.

    • Requirements are as follows:

      • The applicant must attend a school in Indiana for post-high school education to qualify.

      • A transcript of grades must accompany the application

    • This is typically done at the beginning of February and students should look to their school counselor for the application.

  • Goshen Kiwanis Scholarships

    • Within our club we award our own scholarships that have been set up either through our club or through a member that has donated to create a scholarship. The applicants are chosen around the end of April or beginning of May.

    • Follow these steps to apply for the scholarships:

      • Goshen High School: Apply on the Dollars for Scholars website. Here you will input all your information, grades and extracurricular activities along with a couple of essays describing your future plans and goals

      • Fairfield High School: Your counselor will give you a paper application to fill out. You will also need to write a couple of essays describing your future plans and goals. Finally, you will need to attach your high school transcript.

    • The following are the different scholarships that we offer along with their respective requirements.

      • Emerson Ropp

        • This is a single $1,000 scholarship.

        • This is awarded to a student who has excelled in music and/or performing arts and plans to continue this course of study.

      • Ralph Lockerbie

        • This is a single $1,000 scholarship

        • The only requirement for this scholarship is that the student must be an active Key Club member.

      • Richard Welsh

        • This is a single $1,000 scholarship

        • This is awarded to a student that must have a financial need and is planning a course of study in business.

      • Roger Burger Endowment Fund Scholarship

        • This is a $500 per year, for up to 4 year scholarship

        • Requirements

          • Must be an active Key Club member.

          • The applicant must attend a school in Indiana for post-high school education to qualify.

          • Applicants must be seeking a major degree in the field of Science, Sustainability or International Relations.

          • Must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA and must continue to carry a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

      • Kiwanis Foundation Scholarship

        • This is a single $1,000 scholarship

        • This is awarded to a student who has overcome exceptional circumstances to succeed.

      • Goshen Noon Kiwanis Scholarship

        • This is a single $1,000 scholarship that is awarded to 2-5 students.

        • There are no specific requirements but all applications are evaluated and chosen by our committee.

 

  • CJ & Gretchen Yoder Education Scholarship

    • This is a single $2,500 scholarship that is awarded to 2 students.

    • The scholarship is chosen around the end of April or beginning of May

    • Requirements

      • This is available to students graduating from Bethany Christian High School, Northridge High School, or Northwood High School.

      • The student must be pursuing a degree in education.

      • The Recipient of this award must also attend a Goshen Noon Kiwanis meeting to receive their award.
